Rawnsley Quartzite info. board, Brachina Gorge

Description: This rock has shale bands that contain fossils of the oldest known multi-cellular animal life, famous to geologists as the Ediacara Fauna. I did not see the creatures themselves, but their burrows and tracks were much in evidence in the quartzite itself.
