Big "3 Mile" Open Cut

Description: Most opal mining is on a much smaller scale than this, and teds to be hidden in subsurface mines. The pale host rock, a mixture of sand and siltstones, is dazzling bright under the fierce sun. Later in the day (see Pict0254) it became easier to see.
